Job Description
Our client is a global fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) multinational company seeking a Chief Financial Officer to drive financial strategy, performance management, and long-term organisational stability. Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior leader will oversee all finance functions, from treasury and compliance to stakeholder engagement and team development across global and regional markets.
Job Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership – Serves as a trusted financial counsel to the CEO, translating business vision into actionable financial strategy across global FMCG markets. This includes driving performance management, providing data-driven insights, and supporting investment decisions and market expansion initiatives.
- Financial Controls – Owns the internal controls framework, ensuring full compliance with internationally recognised accounting standards, statutory regulations, and local regulatory requirements. Oversees external audits and presents audited financial statements to the Board, maintaining transparency and accountability at all times.
- Budgeting & Treasury – Drives the annual budget cycle, multi-year forecasting, liquidity management, and capital allocation across the organisation. This also encompasses oversight of funding arrangements including grants, credit facilities, and financing agreements to support business continuity and growth.
- Stakeholder Management – Serves as the primary liaison between the executive office, investors, banks, regulators, and auditors, negotiating key financial agreements. Represents the company's financial interests across both global and local partnerships, ensuring strong and trusted relationships with all key external parties.
- People & Technology – Builds and leads a high-performing finance team while championing the adoption of Tech. Drives a data-driven culture across the organisation, ensuring real-time, accurate financial information is accessible to support decision-making at all levels.
Other Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or a related field; CPA-K or ACCA certification required; an MBA is an added advantage
- Experience – 12+ years in progressive finance roles, with minimum 5 years in senior leadership at a multinational,
- Industry Knowledge – Solid FMCG background with understanding of supply chain finance, trade spend, and commercial dynamics
- Leadership – A track record of senior leadership in complex, matrixed organisations with the ability to drive strategic change and engage effectively at the highest levels of the business.
Chief Accountant / Finance Manager
Job Description
Our client is a manufacturing company specializing in high-quality insulation solutions for the building and construction industry, including engineering, HVAC, plumbing, and interior design applications. The company is seeking a Chief Accountant / Finance Manager to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and operational finance functions. The role involves managing receivables, procurement oversight, inventory accounting, payroll processes, audit coordination, internal controls, and tax compliance while supporting strategic planning and cost-efficiency initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
Financial Reporting, Budgeting & Analysis
- Revenue & Expense Tracking: Develop and maintain rigorous systems for tracking revenue and expenses against KPIs.
- Budgetary Oversight: Lead the annual budgeting process and perform detailed monthly and quarterly variance analyses (Budget vs. Actual) to provide commentary on fluctuations and corrective actions.
- Financial Statements: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow forecasting to ensure the business meets its operational obligations and investment goals.
Operational Management & Procurement Oversight
- Receivables Management: Take direct ownership of the credit function by conducting monthly and quarterly reviews of the aging report to minimize bad debt and optimize working capital.
- Procurement Oversight: Provide strategic oversight for the procurement function to ensure cost-effectiveness, transparency, and alignment with production requirements.
- Inventory & Payroll: Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, and the payroll process to ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
Control Environment, Risk & Compliance
- Audit Management: Act as the primary liaison for the external auditor and coordinate with the outsourced internal auditor to ensure a robust and transparent control environment.
- Internal Controls: Maintain, review, and continuously improve internal control systems to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud or errors.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with KRA requirements (VAT, WHAT, PAYE, and Corporate Tax).
Strategy & Business Support
- Strategic Planning: Assist the General Manager in long-term financial planning and capital expenditure (CAPEX) evaluations.
- Efficiency Drives: Identify and evaluate cost-saving opportunities within the supply chain and production processes.
Other Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Finance, or Accounting.
- Certification: Fully qualified CPA(K) or ACCA member in good standing.
- Experience: 8 years in finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Experience in a manufacturing would be an added advantage.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in ERP systems such as Sage.
